The growing MAC Rx team is seeking a analytics oriented individual to join our team as Inventory/Purchasing technician. This role performs a wide variety of technical, physical and analytical functions within our department including department management, inventory organization, and execution and analysis of purchasing supplies and medications. The successful candidate will be able to work well in teams and in a fast-paced environment with sound analytical understanding.
Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of this position is to efficiently receive, organize, and maintain all pharmacy inventory. This includes utilizing pharmacy software, maintaining physical organization of inventory, and ensuring accurate on-hand quantities at all times.
Shift will be Sunday - Thursday, 10:30am to 7pm
Primary Duties
- Utilize pharmacy software to receive and process daily orders.
- Assist pharmacy staff in locating medications when needed.
- Receive and maintain organization of all inventories, including medications and supplies.
- Maintain and perform quality assurance for the pharmacy formulary.
- Conduct cycle counts and full inventory counts on a scheduled basis.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of designated work areas.
- Monitor out-of-stock and FBO (For Back Order) medications.
- Maintain open communication with other MAC Rx departments.
Miscellaneous Duties
- Perform basic technology-related tasks related to inventory management.
- Must be able to work rotating schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, and basic commercial arithmetic.
- Ability to operate pharmacy equipment that does not require specialized training beyond on-the-job instruction.
Education and Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician License.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
Experience
- Inventory management experience preferred.
- Long-term care pharmacy experience preferred.
Work Traits
- Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and guidelines related to purchasing and inventory management.
- Highly efficient and organized.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Purchasing/Inventory Experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail required
- Experienced usage of Computer programs such as Microsoft Office, especially Excel required

- Two years of pharmacy technician experience required, preferably in a long term care setting
- Pharmacy Technician license and certification is required
