Omaha Industries Transportation Logistics Manager

Omaha Industries is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced professional to join our team as a Transportation Logistics Manager. This leadership role will manage our Omaha Direct logistics division and is responsible for managing inbound and outbound freight across four divisions of Omaha Industries, including oversight of transportation operations, carrier relationships, freight optimization, and service performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while driving operational efficiency, cross-divisional coordination, and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
· Lead and oversee daily transportation and dispatch operations for inbound and outbound freight across four divisions of Omaha Industries
· Manage carrier scheduling, load planning, and transportation capacity to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, and internal departments
· Negotiate freight rates and transportation agreements to support cost-effective operations
· Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
· Ensure continuous tracking and tracing of inbound and outbound shipments, proactively resolving service issues when necessary
· Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and transportation industry standards
· Provide leadership, training, and support to logistics, dispatch, and internal driver personnel
· Collaborate cross-functionally with production, customer service, sales, and division leadership teams to support operational goals
· Assist in developing transportation strategies, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
· Participate in on-call responsibilities to support transportation operations as needed
Requirements
· Strong knowledge of transportation operations, freight management, carrier performance, and DOT regulations
· Proven ability to manage inbound and outbound freight across multiple divisions, facilities, or business units
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal leadership teams
· Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced logistics environment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and follow-through
· Experience negotiating freight rates, contracts, and service agreements with carriers and transportation partners
· Proficiency with transportation management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
· Ability to lead teams, improve processes, and drive cross-functional collaboration across multiple divisions
· Availability to work outside of the office at nights and weekends as needed
Qualifications
· High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Transportation, or a related field preferred
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight management, or dispatch operations
· Previous supervisory or management experience leading logistics, transportation, or dispatch teams preferred
· Experience supporting multiple divisions, business units, or facilities is strongly preferred
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
