Summary: Responsible for assisting passengers and clients at the airport.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience customer service experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation.
- Must have HS diploma or equivalent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reads and understands letters and numbers in order to accurately pre-screen passenger tickets and determine city destination/gate locations (International & Domestic destinations) for reference documents.
- Provide general information to passengers, directions, and flight information as well as provide special services (Courtesy chairs/bag carts) as required.
- Direct large pieces of luggage, pets and other checked articles too large to be dispatched in the baggage handling system to oversize.
- Summon the security supervisor and refer difficult or uncooperative passengers to security.
- Keep Supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
- Must project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and the public in a courteous manner.
- Attend meetings and in-services as required by G2.
- Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports, and files as required.
- Other duties may be performed due to company and operation needs.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
With or without reasonable accommodation, the position requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions. In addition to other demands, the demands of the job include:
- Treat all information as confidential.
- Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives.
- Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift and climb stairs.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 70 lbs.
- Must have good hearing and vision.
- May be exposed to occasional loud noise levels.
- Must pass pre-employment and drug screening test.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
- Must be able to verbally direct in English.
- Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization to work in the US
- May be required to work weekends, overnight shifts and holidays.
