We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Air Cargo Office Supervisor
An Air Cargo Office Supervisor would be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to assessing and planning outbound and inbound capacity, fielding and responding to customer issues as they arise, leading the search overages/shortages and communicating that to customers, as well as being responsible for leading a crew of office and some warehouse. Reports directly to Operations Manager.
APS is a full-service CFS and CCSF warehouse managing both Import and Export.
Daily Duties to include:
- Ensuring shifts are properly staffed for smooth daily operations
-Responsible for assisting department co-workers with problems, issues, and questions
-Responsible for ensuring the highest quality and accuracy of document processing
-Responsible for customer satisfaction and customer retention by implementing effective service capabilities
- Fielding and responding to customers via email and phone in a timely manner
- Communicating internally to resolve any operational service demands issues
- Daily capacity planning for inbound and outbound operations
- Flexibility to cover office staff when necessary
- Airline operation experience is a plus. Must have knowledge in Import procedures on what proper clearances are needed to release cargo.
-Airlines operations experience a plus in export must know what proper documents are needed to tender cargo to various airlines.
An Office Supervisor should:
- Communicate effectively to staff members
- Be able to adapt to change and coordinate accordingly, such as an early or late arriving truck
- Be available to customers on the phone and through email as issues arise
- Have adequate self-monitoring skills, knowing when and how to effectively manage any internal employee issues
- Have strong organizational skills
- Be able to field and respond to problems in a timely manner
- Enforce company policies
-Responsible for adherence to U.S. Customs, TSA, and all other government agencies
-Responsible for informing management of progress and requirements of the department
-Act as first level escalation for customer inquiries
-Update internal parties with the most up-to-date SOP’s
-Coordinate with warehouse for daily loads
Physical requirements
- Work in moderately to loud levels of noise
- Must be able to stand up to 4-5 hours daily with minimal sitting
- Work a variety of shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime, and extended hours as required.
Desired Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
- Typing skills with the ability to type a minimum of 45 wpm
- English proficiency (e.g., reading, writing, speaking listening)
- Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus
- Comprehension of airway bill import procedures and government regulations
- Attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to follow direct instructions from managers
- Team oriented, ability to work with others
- Office skills including file maintenance, basic computer knowledge, answering the telephone quickly, and the ability to multitask
- Dangerous goods awareness/acceptance knowledge
