Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Avionics Technician to support aircraft avionics installation, troubleshooting, repair, and operational testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working on aircraft avionics systems, preferably in rotorcraft, and be comfortable working independently from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals, and other technical documentation.
This position is ideal for an experienced avionics technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and completing assignments accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced aircraft environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, modify, repair, and replace aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Troubleshoot avionics malfunctions, identify failures, and perform corrective actions.
- Conduct operational and power-on checks of instruments, radios, navigation systems, pitot/static systems, displays, ICS/audio, and lighting.
- Use specialized hand tools, test equipment, and measuring devices.
- Ensure work meets FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
- Coordinate with leads and other departments regarding schedules, parts, tools, and materials.
- Complete required work orders, records, and documentation.
- Follow all safety, OSHA, environmental, and company procedures.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of aircraft avionics experience required.
- Rotorcraft/helicopter experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade school or technical training preferred.
- Ability to read aircraft drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with avionics test equipment.
- FAA A&P license preferred, not required.
Certifications
- FAA A&P license preferred but not required.
- Additional avionics, electrical, or aircraft maintenance certifications are a plus.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced avionics technician who can work independently, troubleshoot complex systems, and consistently deliver safe, high-quality aircraft work.
