Contract Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Avionics Technician to support a manufacturing team working on advanced, fly-by-wire aerospace systems. This role focuses on hands-on avionics fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and testing in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. A strong commitment to quality, execution, and teamwork is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble avionics components, including wire harnesses, data acquisition units (DAUs), and sensors
- Install avionics systems on aircraft or spacecraft platforms
- Support manufacturing efforts related to installation, design, development, and testing of aerospace components and technologies
- Perform harness installation, wire tying, bundle routing, stripping, terminations, continuity checks, and troubleshooting
- Utilize shop tools and machinery such as multimeters, soldering irons, crimpers, wire strippers, and cutters
- Follow manufacturing work instructions, drawings, and specifications accurately
- Provide technical input related to assessment, repair, and maintenance recommendations
- Execute moderately complex manufacturing tasks requiring judgment and problem-solving
- Ensure quality and efficiency of installations; assist with and guide troubleshooting activities as needed
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention practices
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily deliverables and program goals
- Maintain focus on timeliness, accountability, and execution of assigned tasks
Required Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft fabrication and assembly or equivalent industry experience
- Hands-on experience with aircraft wire harness fabrication and installation
- Experience building and installing Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)
- Ability to use computer applications to follow digital manufacturing work instructions
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and digital models
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
