POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Field Service/Sales Manager is responsible for assisting Dealers and Operators with technical installation and operational issues and creating and maintaining a positive working relationship and generating sales within perspective Dealer Network (Sales/Support Territory). This position is also responsible for generating leads/sales to end users and potential customers.
Candidates based in the Phoenix area are preferred, though those located within the Mountain or West Coast time zones will be considered.
SCOPE OF WORK:
- Maintain working/developing relationships within the Dealer Network through visits, phone calls, emails, and texts to keep dealers up to date on the latest products and news from Aspen Avionics.
- Perform product seminars at aviation trade show events, open houses, and webinars.
- Maintains/generates leads/pursuits in support of individual and team sales objectives.
- Assist management with data from dealers to help make decisions regarding new products and promotions.
- Attend and work trade shows at various required events such as Air Venture, Sun-N-Fun, AOPA Fly-Ins, etc.
- Answer operator and dealer technical inquiries regarding Aspen products via telephone, letters, fax, and e-mail. Travel to dealer facilities to provide on-site support of Avionics Installations and troubleshooting as required
- Basic understanding of aircraft autopilots that are compatible with Aspen systems.
- Arrange for repair of customer equipment and facilitate returns of equipment to the factory
- Arrange for exchange of failed Aspen product. Act as liaison between operator and dealer and company associates of other departments within Aspen
- Monitor, document, and report failure trends in Aspen equipment
- Identify and recommend improvements in Aspen products, documentation, and procedures
- Review special circumstances and authorize warranty service when deemed appropriate
- Assist Engineering by reviewing owner’s manuals, installation manuals, and maintenance manuals for completeness, technical accuracy, and areas likely to be misinterpreted
- Train dealer’s personnel in the installation and operation of Aspen Avionics
- Attend and actively participate in required company meetings.
- Perform other tasks, as assigned by Manager.
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5-years related experience in aerospace field sales, installation and troubleshooting.
- FAA Private Pilot License, with Instrument, preferred.
- Airframe/Powerplant or repairman certificate
- Advanced avionics system knowledge/troubleshooting skills applicable to a broad range of aircraft systems and aircraft operations.
- Experience within the Avionics Industry with knowledge of the 145 Repair Stations
- Strong ability to self-manage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with end users, installers, and customers.
- Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
- Must have superior customer-oriented attitude, verbal and written skills
- Proficient with Microsoft products including, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Must be able work effectively as a team, when needed, and reach out to team members to consult on answers for customers and dealers as needed.
- Must have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines
- Must be able to prioritize and handle many tasks simultaneously and work with minimal supervision
- Previous Avionics experience in an Aircraft Maintenance Facility and/or an Aircraft Manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds in a safe and prudent manner.
- Ability to easily move through an approximately 45,000 square foot warehouse building.
- Ability to push, pull, twist, reach, climb, grasp, stand, and sit.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to use computer equipment, office equipment.
- Ability to have manual dexterity of both hands.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license for business-related travel.
- Ability to travel extensively domestically.
