Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Interior Technician with strong sewing experience in leather and aviation materials. This role includes both precision sewing in the upholstery shop and interior component installation in aircraft.
The ideal candidate has experience with leather upholstery, understands production standards, and is comfortable working inside aircraft cabins with attention to fit, finish, and safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesUpholstery / Sewing
- Operate industrial sewing machines (walking foot, double needle, binding, etc.)
- Fabricate seat dress covers, side panels, headliners, armrests, and other aircraft interior components
- Work with leather, Ultraleather, vinyl, foam, and technical fabrics
- Follow patterns, templates, and engineering drawings
- Maintain consistent stitch quality and tension control
- Perform quality checks before installation
Aircraft Interior Installation
- Remove and reinstall seats, panels, carpets, and trim components
- Install seat covers and soft goods in aircraft
- Ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish
- Follow FAA compliance and safety practices
- Assist with final cabin detailing and customer delivery prep
General Shop Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Support inventory and material tracking
- Work collaboratively to meet production schedules
QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years experience operating industrial sewing machines
- Experience working with leather upholstery
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to read patterns and follow instructions precisely
- Ability to work in both shop and aircraft environments
