Position Overview:
The Maintenance Control and Planning Specialist supports regulatory compliance, operational reliability, AOG support and aircraft availability by coordinating maintenance activities and monitoring fleet status. This role assists with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance planning while ensuring accurate communication and documentation to support safe and efficient flight operations in accordance with PROFLITE GMM. Reports to the Maintenance Control and Planning Manager.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning and maintenance control processes.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations, including Part 91 and/or Part 135 operations.
- Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong proficiency in English communication, including professional writing and verbal communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate scheduled maintenance events to optimize aircraft availability and minimize downtime.
- Assist in developing short and long range maintenance plans, including forecasting upcoming inspections and maintenance requirements.
- Monitor maintenance due lists and maintenance tracking systems to ensure timely scheduling and completion of required maintenance.
- Support the planning and coordination of heavy maintenance events, including major inspections, repairs, and modifications.
- Monitor aircraft operational status and discrepancies within maintenance tracking systems to maintain accurate fleet visibility.
- Coordinate corrective actions for reported discrepancies to ensure timely resolution.
- Communicate maintenance status, operational impacts, and risks to Maintenance Control leadership and operational departments.
- Support daily maintenance control activities to ensure operational continuity.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable FAA regulations, company policies, approved maintenance programs, and safety standards in accordance with PROFLITE GMM.
- Support administration of MEL (Minimum Equipment List) and NEF (Non-Essential Equipment & Furnishings) procedures, including tracking and documentation of deferrals in accordance with PROFLITE GMM.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of maintenance records and return-to-service documentation in accordance with PROFLITE GMM.
- Coordinate Aircraft on Ground (AOG) response activities, including parts ordering, maintenance coordination, and logistics support.
- Assist with troubleshooting efforts during AOG events in coordination with maintenance providers and technical teams.
- Track AOG recovery progress and provide status updates to Maintenance Control leadership and operational stakeholders.
- Communicate aircraft status, maintenance impacts, Flight Operations, Charter Sales, and senior leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance (DOM).
