Join our dynamic team as a Transportation Routing Specialist and become a vital part of our customer delivery efficiency! Duties
- Develop, analyze, and optimize transportation routes using advanced sharepoint sheets and google sheets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—(including urgent demand planning) with Warehouse Mgr, to align transportation drivers availability to drive / fit on route — in order to resolve customer needs.
- Monitor transportation software for real-time updates and ensure delivery time lines are being met.
- improvement initiatives focused on continuous improvement methodologies to streamline operations.
- Maintain detailed records of outbound shipments, transit times, trucks for certain delivery locations and other key performance indicators.
- Ability to talk and schedule repairs on vehicles and coordinate drivers to deliver and pick up from shop.
- Watch weather and keep this in mind with scheduling.
- Being a team player is manditory - there is no "This is not my job". Small office atmosphere where we need to cover other positions / assist when necessary.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in excel / sheet along with the ability to work well with shop mgr & truck loaders.
- Good understanding of locations of major towns / cities in New England
- Knowledge of customer delivery theory to focus on customer satisfaction, logistics, demand planning, freight optimization, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with transportation planning tools and techniques for route optimization and freight cost reduction.
- Excellent communication skills both internal and external customers. Able to go with the flow when unexpected changes arise.
