Position Summary
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for forecasting, planning, and scheduling all routine and long-term aircraft maintenance to ensure maximum fleet availability, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency. This role works closely with Maintenance Control, Flight Operations, and Scheduling to align maintenance planning with operational demand.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and analytical, with a strong understanding of aircraft maintenance programs and inspection cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule all routine, preventative, and long-term maintenance events
- Track inspection intervals, component life limits, and maintenance program requirements
- Coordinate maintenance planning with flight schedules to minimize operational disruption
- Work with approved maintenance vendors to schedule events and confirm capacity
- Maintain accurate maintenance forecasts and downtime projections
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Part 135 requirements, and company maintenance programs
- Support budget forecasting and cost control through proactive planning
- Maintain accurate records and reporting within maintenance tracking systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of aircraft maintenance planning or scheduling experience
- Strong knowledge of aircraft inspection programs and maintenance tracking systems
- Part 135 experience preferred
- A&P certificate a plus, but not required
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments in a dynamic environment
