We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Upholsterer to join our team. This role is responsible for the fabrication, refurbishment, and installation of high-quality aircraft interior components, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and compliance with aviation standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience in upholstery, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering premium interior finishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, repair, and install aircraft interior components including seats, panels, sidewalls, carpets, headliners, and cabin soft goods.
- Cut, measure, and sew materials such as leather, vinyl, fabrics, and foams to precise specifications.
- Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interior components while following FAA guidelines and company procedures.
- Perform layout, pattern creation, and material selection for custom upholstery projects.
- Inspect completed work for fit, finish, quality, and durability.
- Collaborate with interior technicians, painters, and maintenance personnel to ensure seamless project workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Document work performed in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all materials and installations meet aviation standards and customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in upholstery—aircraft, automotive, marine, or furniture-related (aircraft experience preferred).
- Strong sewing, cutting, pattern-making, and fabrication skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
- Knowledge of aviation interior materials and fire-blocking requirements (preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and components as required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Attributes
- FAA repair station or MRO experience.
- Experience working with high-end leather and custom interior projects.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Work Environment
- Full-time position within a fast-paced maintenance and refurbishment facility.
- Hands-on work requiring standing, bending, lifting, and use of industrial equipment.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
