Service Coordinator
Definition of Role and Responsibilities:
GSE America seeks an eager and efficient Service Coordinator to strengthen our service team. The objective of the Service Coordinator is to serve as the primary traffic controller, providing a steady flow of Return to Service equipment. This is accomplished by utilizing processes such as contract review, quoting, sourcing, and scheduling.
As the first point of contact with customers, the Service Coordinator is expected to represent the company professionally.
The person in this role should embrace learning and improving internal processes. Forward thinking and process improvements are key to keeping up with our ever-expanding product offerings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- US citizenship with a bachelor's degree
- 3 years automotive on-resume hydraulic and/or mechanical experience
- Ability to navigate Microsoft 365 and other computer programs
- Proper writing skills accompanied by professional speech and presentation
- Organization and diligent time management skills
- The ability to meet deadlines, create workflows, and manage a list of reminders
- Desire to work ahead
- The ability to prioritize one’s own workload as well as others
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- The ability to pass drug screening
Responsibilities include:
Quoting
- Review service requests, research customer accounts, and respond in a timely fashion;
- Review technical drawings and manuals, gaining knowledge on models and revision history;
- Perform thorough evaluations of equipment as it arrives;
- Travel into the field to perform on-site evaluations;
- Provide accurate estimates for customers and forecast additional contingencies that may arise;
- Inform customers of lead time based on the current production schedule.
Sourcing
- Grow the Approved Vendor List to strengthen purchasing pipeline;
- Procure necessary parts for scheduled services, and manage the queue of parts due for arrival;
- Order stock level inventory at strategic intervals.
Scheduling
- Balance immediate needs while communicating our schedule to customers;
- Manage the service queue delegating technicians’ daily, weekly, and monthly schedule;
- Provide travel requirements for upcoming on-site service;
- Coach technicians’ pace and performance.
Aviation experience is not required. On the job training related to this specific industry is available to every employee. We love to teach, and we really enjoy working around others who are passionate to learn!
