We are seeking an experienced Automotive Controller who can lead accounting operations, drive accuracy, and support executive-level decision-making.
Position Overview
The Automotive Controller will oversee full-cycle accounting operations across multiple entities, manage accounting staff, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
This role works closely with executive leadership and plays a key part in financial strategy, operational performance, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple businesses
- Manage and develop accounting team members
- Complete monthly close process accurately and on time
- Reconcile and maintain all financial schedules and statements
- Monitor and manage:
- Floorplan accounts
- Cash flow and banking relationships
- Contracts in transit (CIT) and deal funding
- Oversee deal posting, receivables, and title processing
- Track and reconcile factory incentives, warranty receivables, and reserves
- Review and audit F&I products, chargebacks, and cost accuracy
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies
- Partner with leadership to improve financial performance and reporting
Executive Collaboration
This position works directly with:
- CEO and CFO
- Full-time enterprise legal counsel
- Ownership and strategic partners
This is a high-visibility role with direct involvement in financial strategy and operational decisions.
Qualifications
- Automotive dealership Controller experience required
- Strong experience with CDK (required)
- Deep understanding of:
- Deal structure and funding
- Accounting schedules and reconciliations
- Payroll, commissions, and expense management
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities

Pay: $135,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
