Accounting Manager
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 annually (salary, exempt)
About the Role
Planes Moving & Storage is seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Accounting Manager to lead our billing operations within the logistics, moving, and storage industry. This position oversees accurate and timely invoicing, revenue recognition, and team leadership for our billing specialists. We’re looking for someone who brings strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving processes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and supervise the billing team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
- Manage revenue recognition for project‑based and recurring contracts.
- Oversee documentation and compliance for all billing transactions.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of billed vs. unbilled revenue.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Train and develop billing specialists.
- Validate billing terms and pricing through contract and job documentation review.
- Resolve billing disputes and coordinate with customer service and AR teams.
- Partner with accounting/finance on month‑end close, accruals, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of accounting/billing experience, including 2+ years in leadership.
- Experience with complex billing (multi‑phase projects, storage, time & materials, etc.).
- Strong Excel skills; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset.
