Full-time Dispatcher 11:30am - 8:00pm, M to F

Responsibilities include daily supervision of dispatch/customer service, driver and equipment management, safety program administration, human resources, and general office functions as determined by the terminal manager. Position reports to the Terminal Manager, and will directly supervise all dispatchers on staff.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma; must be able to read, write, and do basic math

Skills:

Knowledge of the Transportation Industry.
Previous experience with managerial authority and responsibility.
Must be organized and pay attention to detail.
Must be able to multi-task and have a flexible schedule.
Must posses Time Management Skills
Computer experience required Excel, Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, Internet, AS 400, Aether Satellite System and TMW software.
Must be a good communicator and team player.

License: Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk for a majority of an eight hour day
Ability and strength to operate keyboard, copy machine, printer, fax machine and phones.
Ability to lift small boxes of office supplies weighing up to twenty pounds
Ability to climb one flight of stairs
Communicate and enforce all company rules, policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Learn and adhere to all applicable company rules, policies and procedures
Interact with all customers both internal and external in a cooperative friendly manner
Communicate needs and issues, manpower, equipment to management
Enthusiastically support all company quality and safety improvement efforts
Properly report and handle all HM incidents, releases and spills
Retain all contributory workers
Train, develop and correct behavior of drivers
Coordinate with maintenance to quickly resolve all breakdowns and equipment issues
Optimize plans daily for speed, efficiency and cost effectiveness
Oversee inventory
Manage accounts
All office personnel must be reliable, must report for duty on time, and must be available for overtime when required.
All office personnel must keep management informed.
All office personnel must maintain a good working relationship with customers, vendors, co-workers, and management.
Learn and adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures.
