Job Title: Sr. Mass Properties Engineer

What You’ll Do
- Lead Weight Control: Take a leading role in developing comprehensive weight control plans for large aircraft modifications.
- Technical Analysis: Support multiple programs ranging from conceptual design studies to quick-reaction upgrades from a mass properties perspective.
- Data Management: Generate and maintain mass properties databases to track weight and Center of Gravity (CG) estimates accurately.
- Field Support: Support physical aircraft weighings and ensure all associated forms and charts are precisely documented.
- Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for mass properties reporting, communicating effectively with multi-disciplinary design teams, external customers, and suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s of Science degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Typically 10+ years of relevant professional experience in mass properties.
- Technical Expertise: * Deep knowledge of SAWE Recommended Practices RP-7 and RP-8.
- Proven experience building mass properties estimates from CAD data.
- Expertise in Parametric Weight Estimation and conceptual level design support.
- Demonstrated ability as an author for official weight and balance reports.
- Compliance: Thorough understanding of industry-standard engineering principles and practices.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Software: Experience with Dassault 3DX, Solidworks, or parametric modeling tools.
- Specialized Training: Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) training within the last three years.
- Sector Background: Experience with Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) for military programs or a background in the Aerospace and Defense industry (DoD/Military).
- Advanced Principles: Familiarity with model-based definition (MBD) and fundamentals of flight mechanics.
