We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Materials Coordinator specializing in aviation to join our team. Duties
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for aviation parts, ensuring timely sourcing from OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and suppliers.
- Oversee inventory levels using advanced ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools to optimize stock accuracy and availability.
- Coordinate shipping & receiving activities, including freight scheduling, customs documentation, and delivery tracking to maintain smooth logistics operations.
- Collaborate with suppliers on pricing negotiations, demand planning, and sourcing strategies to maximize value and reliability.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory movements, purchase orders, and supplier communications through data entry and order management systems.
- Conduct regular warehouse audits, inventory control checks, and equipment repairs to uphold safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Support automotive diagnostics and repair teams by providing mechanical knowledge on parts specifications and compatibility.
- Utilize warehouse management techniques including forklift operation (certification preferred) to handle materials safely within storage facilities.
- Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations, OEM standards, and quality assurance protocols throughout all procurement activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the aviation or automotive industry, including sourcing, procurement management, and logistics coordination.
- Strong understanding of inventory management practices using ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms; experience with CMMS preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, equipment repair, and warehouse experience.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, or equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on pricing strategies and supplier management.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry, order management system updates, and demand planning accuracy.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and external partners.
- Knowledge of automotive service standards, OEM parts specifications, and dealership experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with logistics software such as AS400 or equivalent enterprise systems; experience with shipping & receiving procedures is advantageous.
