Position Overview
AFTERGLOW Aircraft Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Paint & Detailing Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for restoring, maintaining, and enhancing both the interior and exterior appearance of aircraft to premium standards. The ideal candidate is team centered, hands-on, and quality-driven. Experience in aviation or high-end auto paint environments is ideal but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform aircraft paint repair and touch-ups to maintain flawless exterior finishes
- Complete paint preparation, including sanding, masking, surface cleaning, and material application
- Execute stripe layout and stripe changes according to customer specifications and design standards
- Conduct cabinetry refinishing, including sanding, staining, sealing, and clear coating
- Perform leather refinishing and restoration on seats and interior components
- Carry out full aircraft detailing, including exterior polishing and interior deep cleaning
- Ensure all work meets AFTERGLOW’s high-quality standards and client expectations
- Maintain proper use, storage, and care of tools, materials, and equipment
- Follow all safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and aviation regulations
- Accurately document completed work and report discrepancies or damage
- Qualifications
- Experience in aircraft paint, detailing, automotive paint, or related refinishing field preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of paint systems, surface prep, finishing techniques, and detailing processes
- Experience with wood cabinetry and leather restoration preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift as required in a hangar setting
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed
- Some Travel (Local and Regional)
FAA Drug & Alcohol Program Requirements
This position is classified as safety-sensitive under FAA regulations. Employment with AFTERGLOW Aircraft Solutions is contingent upon compliance with all applicable drug and alcohol testing requirements, including:
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing
- Participation in an FAA-compliant Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
- Subject to random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and return-to-duty testing
- Compliance with all regulations under 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40
Failure to meet or maintain these requirements will result in disqualification or termination.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $27.00 per hour
