Aircraft Mechanic – FAA Part 145 Repair Station
Safety Sensitive: Ability to pass background check and Drug & Alcohol screening.
Reports to: Director of Maintenance, BNA
Duty Location: Nashville, TN
This position performs inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft fuel tanks and cells, in-flight refueling systems and other aircraft repair tasks assigned by the Lead Technician. Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Subject to rotating shift potential, providing coverage on off duty weekends, and supporting unit temporary duty assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs fuel leak evaluation, classification and repair including organic sealant removal, aircraft surface preparation and application of organic sealing compounds.
Performs inspections, functional checks and preventive maintenance on assigned aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, calendar and special inspections.
Performs unscheduled maintenance to include troubleshooting fuel system malfunctions, determining the extent and type of repair, and performing the necessary repairs to include the removal, installation, adjustment and operational checks of various fuel system components such as fuel lines, valves, pumps, and switches on assigned aircraft utilizing various test equipment.
May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification.
Completes all required documentation to include IMDS entries, aircraft and equipment maintenance forms and historical data.
Prepares for, supports and participates in all applicable inspections and exercises.
Performs additional shop duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Use proper time management to ensure aircraft parts will be returned to service according to schedule
Use of basic hand and power tools
General shop experience
Understands, reads and writes English.
