Responsibilities & Duties:
A&P Technicians report directly to the Maintenance Manager within the repair station. In this role, the A&P Technician is responsible for:
- Ensuring that all shop equipment and tools are in serviceable working condition and that required checks and calibrations have been completed on special tools and test equipment prior to use.
- Verifying that all required maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders for assigned tasks have been properly completed.
- Maintaining the repair station premises in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Performing high-quality maintenance in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Observing all safety precautions relevant to maintenance department operations.
- Utilizing the required technical data, in accordance with the latest revisions, for all aircraft parts, components, and tooling used during maintenance.
- Ensuring proper handling of all parts during the repair process and upon completion of work.
- Maintaining proper preservation of all units and parts during the maintenance process, installation, and storage.
- Notifying the Maintenance Manager of any discrepancies or unairworthy conditions discovered during maintenance operations.
- Complying with all Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins, Advisory Circulars, and Engineering Orders (EOs), and signing off on work performed.
Qualifications:
The A&P Technician must:
- Be able to understand, read, and write English.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations in 14 CFR Part 145, as well as inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the articles being maintained, repaired, or altered.
- Be proficient in the use of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected.
- Hold certification under 14 CFR Part 65, authorizing the technician to approve articles for return to service under the repair station certificate and operations specifications.
