A&P Mechanic (Aircraft Maintenance Technician) – FAA Flight Program

Position Overview
Strategic Technology Institute (STi) is seeking an experienced Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic to support the FAA Flight Program Operations (AJF) in Sacramento, CA. This role supports maintenance of FAA-owned aircraft operating under Part 135 and Part 145 environments, ensuring continued airworthiness and mission readiness.
The A&P Mechanic will perform a wide range of aircraft maintenance functions on platforms such as Beechcraft King Air 300 series, C90GTi, and Challenger 600 series aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM guidance, and FAA-approved maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, modification, installation, calibration, and testing of airframe and powerplant systems
- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, General Maintenance Manual (GMM), and Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP)
- Diagnose system discrepancies using appropriate tools and test equipment
- Conduct inspections and determine aircraft airworthiness
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Document all maintenance actions in accordance with FAA standards
- Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and emergency repairs as needed
- Maintain tool accountability and adhere to safety and quality standards
- Coordinate with FAA Line Station Supervisor and maintenance leadership on workload priorities
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License (required)
- Experience performing aircraft maintenance in Part 121, 135, or 145 environments
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, manuals, and schematics
- Experience with aircraft such as King Air, Challenger, or similar platforms preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain FAA clearance (VAP process)
- Must pass DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements
Work Schedule
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
Training Requirements
- Initial 80-hour aircraft training (BE300 & Challenger 604/605/650) required within 90 days of onboarding
Work Environment
- FAA-controlled facility at Sacramento Metro Airport
- Hangar and flight line operations
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks (standing, climbing, kneeling, etc.)
Pay: $46.00 per hour
