Title: Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic
Reports to: Station Manager
Repair and maintain aircraft airframe and powerplant components in support of a classified program for a major defense prime operator. Perform inspections on aircraft engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, and accessories including brakes, valves, pumps, and air conditioning systems.
Document and maintain accurate records of all maintenance actions performed in accordance with regulatory and program requirements. Perform sheet metal and composite structure repairs as required. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues by leveraging pilot reported discrepancies, technical documentation, and hands on inspection.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Must be eligible to work on classified programs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Knowledge of computers
- General knowledge of federal regulations
- Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints/drawings
- Ability to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams
- Ability to legally operate a motorized vehicle
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, aircraft system
- Perform all airframe, power plant repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) requirements
- Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement parts; and testing aircraft systems
- Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments
- Complete all required maintenance records
- Accurately record time worked on work order
- Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints
- Tow and park aircraft
- Ability to use and operate ground systems equipment such as tugs fork lifts, scissor lifts and ground power units
- Perform other aircraft maintenance work as may be required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications, skills, and abilities:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Possess a Valid FAA-issued A&P License required
- 5 year of previous line maintenance experience required
- Experience and/or training on at least 2 aircraft types B737 -800 and B727-200
- Knowledge and Understanding of the English Language required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills desired
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check in compliance with the California Fair Chance Act and applicable federal requirements.
- U.S. citizenship required due to federal security requirements applicable to classified defense programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the ability to:
- Stand
- Lie down
- Kneel
- Climb stairs, scaffolds, or ladders
- Frequently lift, pull, and hold objects weighing more than 70 pounds
- Noise and vibration are common when engines are on, so ear protection is necessary
