Job Overview
Veterans Alliance is hiring experienced CNC Machinists, 5-Axis CNC Programmers, and Conventional Machinists to support precision manufacturing operations in Torrance, California. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay, long-term stability, and a fast hiring process.
These roles are ideal for candidates with experience in aerospace, high-precision machining, or production machine shop environments.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machining processes to meet specifications
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam or similar)
- Perform 5-axis programming and toolpath development (Programmer role)
- Monitor machining operations and adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling as needed
- Perform inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues during production
- Maintain equipment, tooling, and clean work areas
- Follow all safety and quality standards
Qualifications
CNC Machinist
- Minimum 2+ years CNC machining experience – REQUIRED
- Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or similar equipment
CNC Programmer (5-Axis)
- Minimum 5+ years CNC programming experience – REQUIRED
- Strong experience with 5-axis machining and CAD/CAM software
- Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming
Conventional Machinist
- Minimum 4+ years conventional machining experience – REQUIRED
- Experience with manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)
All Roles
- Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Compensation & Details
- CNC Machinist Pay: $22.00 – $35.00/hr
- CNC Programmer (5-Axis) Pay: $28.00 – $45.00/hr
- Conventional Machinist Pay: $20.00 – $35.00/hr
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Job Type: Direct Hire
