Job Overview
Veterans Alliance is hiring experienced Structures Mechanics to support aircraft structural repair and fabrication operations in Melbourne, Florida. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay and long-term career stability.
This role is ideal for mechanics with strong experience in heavy maintenance environments, especially those with business or corporate aircraft backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs and alterations in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Fabricate and install sheet metal parts including doublers, stringers, channels, and structural components
- Manufacture tooling, form blocks, and molding blocks to support repairs
- Perform layout, drilling, riveting, deburring, polishing, and installation of aircraft parts
- Execute repairs using SRMs, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions
- Replace bearings, bushings, and structural hardware as required
- Operate heavy equipment such as press brakes, drill presses, and shears
- Maintain close tolerances for interference fit fasteners
- Occasionally assist with avionics STC installations and flight control systems
- Ensure compliance with FAA, EPA, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and meet production schedules
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of structures/sheet metal experience – REQUIRED
- Experience in heavy maintenance environments – REQUIRED
- Business or corporate aircraft experience – PREFERRED
- Strong skills in fabrication, assembly, and structural repair
- Ability to read and interpret SRMs, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Experience with close-tolerance structural work and fasteners
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet production timelines
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Compensation & Details
- Pay: $35.00 – $45.00/hr (based on experience)
