Spirit Aeronautics is a hybrid Maintenance and Avionics shop located in the Signature FBO at CMH. We excel in specialty avionics upgrades and AOG maintenance support on corporate aircraft. We are now expanding into scheduled maintenance to complete our services. We’re looking for a highly skilled avionics or maintenance technician who is eager to learn the other—or, ideally, someone who already excels in both areas. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maintenance Technician:
Candidate will perform a variety of mechanical duties on various corporate and general aviation aircraft models including, but not limited to the following: diagnosis of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft for flight and delivery to customer.
Avionics Technician:
Candidate should have a strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and avionics systems technology. They are able to interpret aircraft system drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals and use them for avionics system installations and/or troubleshooting avionics faults.
JOB DUTY EXAMPLES FOR BOTH:
- Complete all maintenance activities on aircraft as assigned.
- Demonstrate effective maintenance repair techniques using FAA & Industry accepted practices, tooling.
- Provide mentorship to junior level mechanics.
- Perform advanced aircraft modifications, sheet metal repair, corrosion, landing gear or engine removals.
- Ensure all work is completed per the maintenance manual, service bulletin, Spirit Avionics RSM, FAA FAR or other approved documentation.
- In partnership with the Maintenance Lead and Quality Inspectors, ensure full compliance to all internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
- Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Ensures quality and efficiency of all assigned inspections, service, and maintenance work scopes.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Installs, configures, functional tests, and troubleshoots new and/or existing avionics equipment, instrument and static system components, and electrical systems on business and corporate aircraft.
- Performs scheduled/unscheduled avionics inspections to include, but not limited to, RVSM certifications, 91.411/91.413, and ELT checks.
- Builds/installs new aircraft wiring harnesses and repairs and/or replaces existing aircraft wiring and associated connectors.
- Inspects the work of assigned personnel and ensures quality and conformance to specifications set by the Repair Station Manual and the company.
- Oversee the use and maintenance of all test equipment and tools used in assigned section. Ensures that all equipment is properly used, cleaned, maintained and is stored in the assigned areas. Ensures test equipment and tools in use are within their calibration period.
- Follows up on parts and equipment required. Provides turnover information on deficiencies and shortages.
- Prepares daily shift turnover reports, initiates forms, and paperwork as needed, ensures that all paperwork is properly executed and signed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED. Preference to those with an Associate’s degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance.
- 4 years of progressive maintenance experience and/or training in the business aviation industry or military.
- Valid FAA A&P license.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting avionics desired.
- ASTM Aircraft Electronics Technician Certifications desired.
- Bombardier Challenger, Learjet, and Cessna Citation experience preferred.

- Must be able to work standing, kneeling, or prone for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to work in confined spaces.
