We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the performance, safety, and reliability of company vehicles and equipment across multiple locations. This role ensures operational continuity through proactive maintenance, regulatory compliance, scheduling, and team leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong logistics experience, risk management skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance programs to ensure 95% uptime
- Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and internal safety standards
- Manage transportation budget, asset lifecycle planning, and vendor negotiations
- Monitor timecard accuracy and maintain overtime below 5%
- Lead safety initiatives, including incident investigations and toolbox talks
- Coordinate daily transportation schedules and dispatch operations
- Promote a respectful, performance-driven team culture
- Collaborate with project teams and field leadership to align operations
- Audit fuel and toll accounts for policy compliance
- Analyze downtime and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred
Experience
- 5+ years in transportation or warehouse management
- 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably in construction or contracting
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum age: 18
- Valid driver’s license with insurable record preferred
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines
