Position Summary
The Air Force Reserve has the most-advanced bombers in the world, but they can’t get off the ground by themselves. It takes the expertise of refueling mechanics. As a Refuel/Bomber Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, we’ll train you to do everything from inspecting and repairing aircraft structures and hydraulic systems to installing engine parts. Every time an Air Force bomber takes off on a mission, it’s because of dedicated Airmen like you.
Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft.
- Adjust, align and rig aircraft systems.
- Inspect and check components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation and operation.
- Keep inventory and maintain aircraft equipment.
- Supervise the launching and recovery of aircraft.

Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED with 15 college credits or GED
- Knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems
- Normal color vision
- Completion of a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit Check
- Completion of 8.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 39
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 pounds
