What You Will Do:
We are looking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced Production Planner II team member to create, modify, and manage work order releases. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Customer Service, Master Scheduling, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality Assurance team members to status and maintain build schedules for your assigned product line. You will ensure that critical materials are being completed in sufficient time to meet delivery schedules while interfacing with Manufacturing Leads and Supervisors to status and expedite materials and assemblies as needed. Your responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers. You will need to closely monitor the production process and escalate when work orders are being delayed. You will need to demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly. Finally, you will be a role model for the Production Planner I team members. This position works under moderate supervision and requires you to be on site Monday through Friday.
Job Description:
- Responsible for releasing work orders in timely fashion to support customer on-time delivery targets
- Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to requests, understanding requirements, and building productive internal customer relationships
- Interfaces with Production Leads, Supervisors and Managers to support continuous workflow and WIP schedules
- Identify optimal lead-times for materials and production scheduling to meet inventory needs
- Proactively identifies potential material shortages/capacity issues, collaborates with internal team members, and takes appropriate actions
- Immediately addresses and resolves issues to minimize delays in production
- Analyze stocking levels for MAKE subassemblies and propose updating, adding or updating safety stock levels
- Offer solutions at Core team stand-up meetings to resolve issues
- Promptly informs the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules
- Continuously seeks ways to improve processes and participates in quality improvement teams when appropriate
- Participate in customer calls, as needed, to provide estimated shipping dates and, also highlight issues (e.g., resource constraints, quality issues, etc.)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of AA degree required. BA or BS degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production scheduling, supply planning, or demand planning role
- APICS CPIM certification preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to collaborate with individuals across a broad range of functions and varying seniority
- High motivation to learn, develop and perform in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously
- Experience with metric creations and data presentations
- Processes inventory transactions as work orders are started and issues material to general floor stock in support of product picklists.
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures
- Reacts to change productively and handles other duties as required
- Experience with capacity requirements planning
- Ability to establish and communicate work order priorities with Manufacturing team
- Skills, Abilities & Technical Requirements:
- Experience extracting and reviewing drawings from PLM tool. Agile experience a plus.
- Able to build and analyze data within Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, V-lookup)
- Experience working in ERP system (e.g., QAD, SAP). Experience in QAD a plus.
- Good overall knowledge of manufacturing processes, including a detailed understanding material planning, lead-times, capacity planning, BOM, and customer requirements.

- Ability to resolve issues before escalating to management
Accountability
This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements.
