POSITION SUMMARY
A laser operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment, ensuring precise and high-quality cuts on plastic, by selecting appropriate cutting programs, adjusting laser beam settings, loading materials, and performing routine maintenance checks to maintain production efficiency and safety standards; they typically work in a fast-paced setting with a focus on accuracy and quality control.
Schedule Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11pm
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately completes all related paperwork and wanding functions.
Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
Reacts to change productively and handles other duties as required.
Attend and Pass all required trainings.
Operates both FOBA and ROFIN laser.
Ensures Lighting Requirements on parts are met.
Touching up parts with finish coatings to remove light leaks
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Continuously improves products and processlaseapintes and participates in quality improvement teams when appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery to the customer by maintaining productivity and following department schedules.
Recommends ways to save money and cut unnecessary costs.
Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to customer requests, understanding customer requirements and building successful, productive customer relations.
Additional duties in Finishing Department as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Requires six months production experience or training.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Good hand/eye coordination
Ability to read and understand routings.
Ability to read and understand production drawings.
Good Vision either natural or corrected is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Daily exposure to chemicals, fumes, noise, heat or cold, and extended time periods in dark room. Use of respirator, gloves and goggles required.
Working in a Manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting of 10 lbs. frequently and standing 50% of the day required.
Good Vision either natural or corrected is required.
DEGREE OF SUPERVISION
Reports to department lead. If not available, then to Production Supervisor

Meets with freight This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by Title 22 of Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
