Toledo Jet is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aircraft AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Maintenance Technician to join our Mobile Response Team. This position is responsible for providing rapid-response maintenance support to aircraft experiencing unscheduled maintenance events throughout the United States and beyond.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives under pressure, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service while returning aircraft to service safely and efficiently.
Position Summary
The AOG Technician serves as a front-line representative of Toledo Jet, responding to customer aircraft maintenance needs both on-site and remotely. This position requires extensive travel, independent decision-making, and the ability to diagnose and resolve aircraft discrepancies with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in dynamic environments, including airports, hangars, FBOs, and remote locations, often under tight timelines and operational demands.
Key ResponsibilitiesAOG Response & Troubleshooting
- Respond to aircraft-on-ground (AOG) maintenance events on a 24/7 rotational basis.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and avionics-related discrepancies.
- Perform unscheduled maintenance and corrective actions to return aircraft to service.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Control, customers, OEMs, and vendors to expedite repairs.
- Determine required parts, tooling, and resources needed to resolve maintenance issues.
Mobile Maintenance Operations
- Travel to customer aircraft locations throughout the United States and internationally when required.
- Perform field maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Coordinate with local maintenance providers and FBO personnel as necessary.
- Maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and mobile support resources.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently in varying operating environments.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate maintenance records, work orders, and logbook entries.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and manufacturer requirements.
- Properly document discrepancies, corrective actions, and return-to-service activities.
- Maintain high standards of quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
Customer Service
- Serve as the primary customer contact during AOG events.
- Provide professional updates regarding troubleshooting progress and repair status.
- Build strong customer relationships through responsiveness, technical expertise, and professionalism.
- Represent Toledo Jet with the highest level of integrity and customer focus.
QualificationsRequired
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively on short notice.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain airport access credentials.
Preferred
- Experience with business and turbine aircraft.
- Experience on Citation, Hawker, Learjet, King Air, Falcon, Bombardier, Gulfstream, or Embraer aircraft.
- Avionics troubleshooting experience.
- Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Previous Part 145 Repair Station or Part 135 maintenance experience.
- Experience supporting mobile maintenance or AOG operations.
