Position Overview
Universal Flight Training, LLC is seeking an experienced FAA-certified A&P Mechanic to support a high-performance and technologically advanced aircraft fleet. This role is designed for a mechanic who takes pride in precision maintenance, systems-level troubleshooting, and maintaining aircraft to an owner-quality standard.
You will work on modern, glass-cockpit aircraft with advanced avionics, composite structures, and turbine-adjacent systems in a professional, detail-driven environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-end general aviation aircraft in accordance with:
- 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
- Manufacturer maintenance manuals and service bulletins
- Approved data and best-practice standards
- Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance including:
- 100-hour and annual inspections
- Advanced discrepancy diagnostics
- Component replacement and system calibration
- Maintain aircraft to “owner-ready” condition, not minimum compliance
- Perform and document maintenance on:
- Advanced avionics and integrated flight decks
- Composite airframes
- Turbocharged and high-performance piston systems
- Ensure exceptional quality control, documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate closely with flight operations, management, and aircraft owners
- Proactively identify maintenance trends, reliability concerns, and preventive actions
- Maintain a pristine, organized hangar and tool environment
- Assist with aircraft ground handling, hangaring, and preservation
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Proven experience maintaining modern, high-performance GA aircraft
- Strong systems-level troubleshooting skills
- Comfort working with glass cockpits, FADEC-adjacent systems, and advanced avionics
- Meticulous attention to detail and documentation
- Professional communication skills and owner-level discretion
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred / Strongly Desired
- Experience with Cirrus, Diamond, Piper M-Class, or similar advanced platforms
- Composite airframe experience
- Familiarity with Garmin avionics (G1000, Perspective+, etc.)
- Inspection Authorization (IA) or willingness to obtain
- Experience in managed aircraft or flight school environments with high utilization
- Electronic logbook and maintenance tracking experience

Pay: $24.78 - $29.85 per hour
