Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Senior Staff Accountants to join our team within the SSC FIAR program at the Los Angels SFB, California
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility:
- Mission Critical Asset Valuation and Accountability
Team will obtain and collect GEV and MEV data, to include but not limited to, accounting data, contracts, time compliance technical orders, receiving reports, budget documentation, or other acceptable documents necessary to calculate GEV and MEV valuations. Team will obtain and analyze the SSC Program Office data (Obligations, Contracts, J-Books, R-Docs, Expenditures) in updating the Military Equipment Valuation Construction in Progress Model to produce the Quarterly Journal Entry for review and approval. Space Force PEO Directorates, Program Offices, Programs, or other Space Force organizations, whose valued assets are subject to GEV and MEV reporting, must: accurately report GEV and MEV data. The contractor shall obtain and analyze the SSC Program Office data (Obligations, Contracts, J-Books, R-Docs, Expenditures) in updating the Military Equipment Valuation Construction in Progress Model to produce the Quarterly Journal Entry for review and approval. Team will analyze and calculate GEV and MEV valuations for each SSC Directorate and its Programs, whose valued assets are subject to GEV and MEV reporting. Where deficiencies exist, work with applicable government personnel to recommend executable corrective actions necessary to complete GEV and MEV valuation and properly report in an approved AF/SF System and track deficiencies.
Secondary responsibilities:
- Audit Readiness/Internal Controls
Team will evaluate the current control environment across each of the SSC and PEO assessable units and lead the development, enhancement, and implementation of internal controls, including monitoring controls
Team will provide audit liaison support for DAF and SSC General Fund and Working Capital Fund, to include where DAF and SSC are a Service Provider. Team will help facilitate SSC successful response to the external auditor’s requests, eg PBCs, auditor site visits and process walkthroughs, and other testing and documentation.
Qualifications
Accountant 1:
· Required: Eight (8) or more years of experience in Air Force legacy financial management systems and processes; Air Force policies, systems and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property and material management; DoD and Air Force financial management policies and procedures.
· Experience with Federal / DoD asset valuation procedures, applicable SFFAS guidance, GAAP, and financial audits of GPP&E.
· Secret clearance
· BA/BS
· Onsite at Peterson AFB with occasional hybrid/telework potential.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
