We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the organization’s financial operations by managing data entry, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy in financial records. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with accounting standards and contribute to the overall efficiency of our accounting functions. - Perform accurate data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday.
- Reconcile accounts on the balance sheet and general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with account analysis, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Support payroll management processes through systems like ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, and Paychex.
- Conduct account reconciliation activities including debits & credits, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments while maintaining compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
- Assist with tax preparation activities and governmental reporting requirements as needed.
- Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with familiarity in public accounting practices.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or UltiPro is a plus.
- Knowledge of payroll management systems like ADP or Ceridian along with experience in payroll processing.
- Ability to perform high-volume data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with financial regulations including GAAP and SOX compliance standards.
- Excellent math skills combined with strong analytical abilities for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks.
