Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant
Global Aviation is looking for a motivated, self-starting Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. Individuals must excel at critical thinking, being adaptable with an eagerness to learn a detailed chart of accounts and class system. Strong competence in Microsoft Office suite applications and QuickBooks Desktop is required. Individuals possess the ability to perform accounting functions independently with moderate supervision, a high degree of accuracy required and meet deadlines. Initial primary focus will be on Accounts Receivable but may adapt to include some Accounts Payable as part of cross training.
Description of Duties
Accounts Receivable:
· Responsible for creation of several types of customer invoices, applying customer payments, generating statements, performing collections and resolving invoice-related issues.
· Remains aware of all promotions and/or specials that could affect customer pricing or contracts and effectively communicates company policies and procedures to customers.
· Assist with month end close as it relates to the existing Accounts Receivable process.
Additional Department Duties:
· Develop and in-depth knowledge of Global Aviation’s income tracking systems (QuickBooks, Atlas, Corridor) to provide related accounting and business process support.
· Build a functional understanding of Global Aviation’s highly specific aviation financial operations.
· Input monthly data into accounting software and databases, process flight logs and maintain job sequence spreadsheet.
· Responsible for various month-end closing tasks and quarterly reports.
· Preform recurring account reconciliations.

- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft office applications.
- Proficiency and accuracy with 10-key operation.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately.
- Physical ability to use computer hardware and to type, involving continuous motions of hands/wrists, frequently talk, frequently grasp phone receivers, reach, hear, sit for extended periods of time, bend, walk, and climb stairs.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license from state of residence.
- Satisfactory pre-employment drug screening and background check results.

Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, certificate of bookkeeping equivalent required.
· 2 to 4 years of continuous full-time accounts receivable, accounts payable experience is required.
· Experience of one or more years in an administrative or customer service-related role is required, experience in aviation industry a plus.
Interpersonal Contacts: Position has both internal and external contacts. Internal contacts are frequently made with other company departments. External contacts are frequently made with vendors and customers. Some interactions involve the exchange of confidential information regarding financial information, flights, and customers. Both types of contacts are because of regular on-going duties. 50% of contacts are over the phone and 50% are face-to-face. At least 40% of all contacts are with external customers, while 60% are with non-customers or other employees.
Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions with extensive computer work.
Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $71,000.00 per year
