Maintenance Controller – Aviation Operations
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Controller to support our flight operation by providing real‑time technical oversight, troubleshooting, and decision‑making for our fleet. This role is the central hub between flight crews, maintenance teams, MCC leadership, and regulatory compliance, ensuring every aircraft is dispatched safely, efficiently, and in full accordance with FAA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Oversight — Monitor aircraft status, MEL/CDL items, and open discrepancies across the fleet in real time
- Technical Troubleshooting — Provide guidance to flight crews and remote technicians for in‑service issues, abnormal indications, and AOG events
- Maintenance Coordination — Direct maintenance actions with line stations, contract vendors, and internal maintenance teams
- Regulatory Compliance — Ensure all actions comply with FAA regulations, company manuals, and approved procedures
- MEL Management — Evaluate discrepancies, determine MEL applicability, and ensure proper deferral documentation
- Communication Control — Maintain clear, timely communication with Dispatch, Flight Following, and Operations
- AOG Response — Lead recovery efforts, coordinate parts, tooling, and personnel to return aircraft to service
- Documentation Accuracy — Review logbook entries, corrective actions, and maintenance releases for accuracy and compliance
Qualifications
- FAA A&P Certificate (required)
- 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience; MCC or control‑center experience preferred
- Strong understanding of MELs, aircraft systems, and Part 121 operational requirements
- Ability to make fast, safety‑driven decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple teams
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking systems (Corridor & FOS)
Work Environment
- Fast‑paced operations center supporting a 24/7 flight schedule
- Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
